I was honored to join the dedication and grand opening of the New Guardian Angel Church in Pacoima and present a certificate in celebration of this historic moment! After more than 20 years of planning and community effort, this beautiful new church will now seat over 1,300 parishioners — a space worthy of the vibrant Catholic community it serves.

From its roots in the San Fernando Gardens to this incredible new home, Guardian Angel Church continues to be a source of faith, unity, and hope in Pacoima. Congratulations to the entire parish family! ⛪

In collaboration with County and City departments, we removed hazardous litter and debris from Bengal St in Shadow Hills and helped an individual get housed. I share the frustration with residents about the health and safety concerns that encampments create, and I remain committed to ensuring resources are used efficiently to address these challenges comprehensively.

Report community concerns by calling 3-1-1 and by my contacting my offices:

 📍 Sylmar: (818) 756-8409
 📍 Sunland-Tujunga: (818) 352-3287

Or email details to Councilmember.Rodriguez@lacity.org.

This week, I was proud to join in celebrating the 35th anniversary of LA’s BEST, a program that has supported over 350,000 students across Los Angeles. In communities like the Northeast San Fernando Valley, LA’s BEST has long provided a safe, enriching space for kids after school—offering academic help, creative outlets, and caring mentors. In recognition of this legacy, we proclaimed April 9th as LA’s BEST Day in the City of Los Angeles. Congratulations to the entire LA’s BEST family!
